The San Francisco and Marin Intergroup Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing and supporting the effective and efficient operations of Intergroup, including supporting the special workers and the business/administrative functions of the non-profit organization.

Intergroup Board Committees

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is responsible for supervising the Executive Director. The Executive Committee will often ultimately hire the Central Office management staff and work with them in establishing goals for the year, evaluating performance, and handling crisis situations when the nature of the crisis falls outside the scope of the other board committees. 

Development Committee

The Development Committee is responsible for supporting and coordinating with Intergroup Board Committees, Intergroup Service Committees, and with the service entities outside the purview of IFAA but serving the Fellowship of Marin and San Francisco Counties. 

Finance Committee

The Finance committee oversees the preparation of the annual budget and the performance of the organization in meeting its budgeted revenues and expenses. It tracks financial performance over time to proactively detect trends that may inhibit operations, as well as anticipate future expenditures that fall outside of normal operations, to identify additional financial needs. 

Operations Committee

The Operations Committee works with the Executive Director to maintain the healthy operation of San Francisco and Marin Intergroup. It is charged with the processes, procedures and delivery of Intergroup services and Central Office functions. This also includes periodic reviews and recommendations for improvements. In collaboration with other Board and Intergroup Committees, the Operations Committee ensures Intergroup services and programs are delivered in the most relevant and appropriate way to support the Fellowship’s 12th Step work.

Governance Committee

The Governance Committee leads the healthy development of the Board. The governance committee is responsible for ongoing review, recommendations and various actions to enhance the quality and future viability of the Board of Directors, its effective operation, and oversight of the organization. Specifically, the Governance Committee handles Board recruitment, orientation, self-assessment, continuing education, and board management.
