Unity Day Events for SF (10/9) and Marin (10/16) Kick Off Next Week!
The time has come! San Francisco Unity Day (Online) is on Saturday, October 9th @ 10am PDT, with panels, orientations, and workshops galore. Marin Unity Day (Hybrid) is the following weekend on Saturday, October 16th @ 12pm PDT with presentations, sobriety countdowns, and even a potluck! Don’t miss these opportunities to learn how to get involved with service outside the group level. See below for a snapshot of both flyers or see the respective pages for the 10/9 and 10/16 events.
Intergroup and Other Service Entities
Intergroup provides services to local groups and members that are beyond the scope of individual meetings, such as Central Office and the aasfmarin.org website. Intergroup works in cooperation with other service entities, such as: General Service, which is our link to A.A. as a whole; H & I, whose purpose is to carry the message of A.A. to the alcoholic who is confined; and Marin Teleservice, which provides phone coverage when Central Office is closed and ensures 12th step workers are available to alcoholics in need. Each of these service entities co-exist in mutual cooperation and harmony.
GSO’s Box 4-5-9 Fall Issue 2021
Be sure to check out General Service Office’s most recent issue of the Box 4-5-9 Newsletter for Fall 2021: “Supporting the Fellowship: G.S.O.’s New Member and Customer Service Department.” Be sure to take a look and see how G.S.O. streamlined their customer service process into a “one stop shop,” to better meet the needs of the fellowship. See below for a teaser:
“If you called the General Service Office before June of this year and had more than one task to accomplish – say you wanted to order literature as well as update records for your group – you would have been routed to two different associates in two different departments…The end result [of some rigorous employee cross-training for the new team] is that members and customers can now call or email, and one person can help them with any and all business requests they may have.”
