Focus on Our Primary Purpose

We hope you’ve had a chance to visit your shiny new aasfmarin.org website and noticed how easy it is to use. But did you also realize how well it serves our primary purpose—to serve the alcoholic who still suffers?

It all starts with the big homepage headline: “Do you want to stop drinking?” followed by “find a meeting.” There’s also a prominent section with newcomer resources, titled, “Want to stop drinking?” It includes:

  • 20 questions self-assessment
  • Contact information for SF and Marin Teleservice
  • FAQs about A.A. 
  • Helpful literature such as “A Newcomer Asks” and “Is A.A. for Me?” 

Be sure to check these out and share with a newcomer!

CNCA 06 Presents: A Virtual Workshop on the 7th Tradition

Come join the CNCA 06 Finance Committee on January 29, 2022 @ 10am for a virtual finance workshop. There will be 3 presentations on what makes a financially healthy group, best practices for a digital basket, and clarification on who the “other service entities” are and why we support them! Speaking of the 7th Tradition, Here’s Something for New Treasurers!

Are you a new treasurer wondering how and where to make your group contributions? Well, the answer is right here on the contributions page of our website! Central Office contributions can be submitted by check or online. 

The contributions page also contains information about General Service numbers (requested for any General Service contribution – NY and local) and where to obtain that number, contribution percentages for our supported entities, mailing addresses, online contribution links, and much more!
 

A.A. History Symposium has Many Scholarships!

The A.A. History Symposium has received a lot of generous contributions to its scholarship fund. There are a substantial number of full scholarships available for the virtual conference on January 28 – 30, 2022. Registration includes free audio recordings. Come Join the Sunshine Club!

The Sunshine Club is holding its quarterly business meeting (online) next Thursday, January 27, 2022 @ 7pm. The mission of the Sunshine Club is to bring meetings to A.A. members who are unable to attend regularly scheduled meetings due to illness, accident, postpartum, or any disabling medical condition.

During this time of COVID, Sunshine Club is making phone calls to those in need. We welcome and encourage anyone in the fellowship who wants to learn more about this service to please join.
 

Marin GSR Workshop (Online) Sun 1/23!

While this workshop is specifically geared toward Marin GSRs, anyone with a desire to learn more about General Service is encouraged to join this virtual workshop on Sunday, January 23, 2022 @ 12pm. Check the flyer below or online for details.
